I genuinely want to see scarier, bigger, more ominous creatures. Even more intelligent would be an absolutely epic addition. Like a creature who stalks you stuff like that. I especially wished that the horror aspect was embraced more with the leviathan, I really wished to see those massive deep water creatures that should make you question whether it’s worth it to continue. With this the current creatures are more annoying. Most of the bigger creatures attack you, with no way to fight back it’s absolutely annoying. I wish we could see less of this with some of these creatures and emphasize the danger with the bigger scarier and smarter creatures that lurk a bit deeper.

Agreed! On that note, I noticed some eldritch horror aspects in the game (like the World Tree stuff), so it would be awesome to see more of that too

Maybe add like the corpse of an adult clam, or a cicada with masive bitemarks. so not necesairly more dangerous and bigger creatures, but at least evidence of something out there. Like there was part of a massive reaper skelleton in sn1. Let the people wonder what kind of creature would have to exist to leave something like that.

Yes add more skeletons and deeper water.
Make it feel like you are being watched.
Also I did like the idea that I COULD damage a reaper. Now it makes me feel like everything is immortal except me.
It’s a survival game, not a horror game. That said, there already are creatures that stalk you, such as the Marrowbreach and Nibbler Mango. Marrowbreach also already falls undef Intelligent, because they use Houndgar packs to hunt you.

I would like there to be a creature that jumpscares you like the reaper did.
But beyond that I think stuff like the collector is really scary, I like how it feels like a chase scene with it everytime..
And asking for stuff to be “bigger” only works to an extent.. making something that makes all other leviathans feel small, and is itself to big to really be scary will just make the game feel like just feel unimportant (My issue with the garg mod)

A good way to make creatures scarier I think would be to make certain ones lethal or extremely harmful on contact, but this should be combated with measures you can take to avoid or deter them. Most people will resort to suggesting being able to outright kill them, but that’s pretty basic and detracts from the whole point of being at the mercy of an alien ocean ecosystem. Having effective ways to sneak around, take shelter from or distract creatures, or to keep them at bay, would work to the best interests of both players and developers alike.

Yes, it is a horror game, if you see the categories of the game, it is listed as a survival/horror/underwater game.

I love the idea of a creature with intelligence, kind of like in Alien Insolation.
A creature that lives in the depths of the sea, right where nothing can be seen, or at least the lighting is very poor.
It could be that the creature learns about the player or stalks them, that creates that terror, mystery about the depths, I think adding more scary creatures in the depths would be great.
It addresses doubt, mystery and fear of the unknown.
They could be based on abyssal creatures.
I support the idea of generating more terrifying creatures in the depths and diverse species in different biomes.
