A big submarine like cyclops

Please add more vehicles, and a big one like cyclops, and a VERY BIG ONE

YESSSS, maybe a modular ship where you can make it smaller if your solo, or bigger if you have more people playing. maybe some functions could be automatic in the small ship, but if you make it bigger you could dedicate that section for another player to handle. like guns decoys or whatever else you guys are cooking up.

A big sub that takes multiple people to pilot—specifically designed for multiplayer. But also have a little version for solo players

Make interchangeable modules or individual sub components so we can build our own either as large or small as we care to. Instead of just base building add sub building. The idea supports coop players as well.

PS - loved the “Welcome Aboard Captain” bring that back. Whoever did the voice for that reminds me of actor Michael Caine.

Include a dock for the sub pls

Ive been seeing videos online about new subs.
People think were gunna get like a square sub.
If its a true sub the devs are adding i get the idea. Maxing buildable space would be a good thing to have. But personally i want most of my subs to have some curves.

Maybe they will add both. Now that would be fire af.

a two player option in-between option would be nice: i found the cyclops worked pretty well for that in my co-op playthrough of SN1.
we worked together to manage hull damage and fires, and reloaded the docoy tubes while on the move.

But can you make it more custom, where like you can make it wider, or narrow, because i want to be able to place more things in the trident also can you make it where you can dock two vehicles

Later game sub with a retractable or even open designed (like the hatch for a base) cargo/vehicle bay on the bottom of the sub would be nice, not like the cyclops where you go in from the bottom but from the front instead that spans across the whole bottom of the sub, thought it could be a cool concept, maybe you could even disable the barrier to let the bay flood so you could capture/transport a sea creature?

Maybe even have the cargo bay detachable so you could ditch it for extra speed to save the ship, or maybe to squeeze into a tight spot? Or maybe you drop the bay onto the sea floor with a friend or two inside to fill it with resources while the main ship explores and comes back to pick it up and since it could harbor a vehicle or two that would still leave them with transport, maybe even the cargo bay could be somewhat mobile with light thrusters, not as a actual transport but to move it in a short range or to help connect it back to the main ship, think of it like a large scale tadpole I suppose, just throwing an idea out there, I realize this could be a lot of work but could be a really nice feature, anyway thank you for your time.

Yes lord please let this happen could you imagine if they added the atlas submarine mod as from the first game as one of the submarines that would be sick please let that happen and if there we roles for each player like the driver/navigator, the guy in charge of power distribution like all power to engines or all power to shields or whatever, one guy in charge of the cameras and the sonar and scanning, and one guy in charge of defense and countermeasures like creature decoys and they could add like a temporary stun thing

One player should be able to pilot the ship on their own from the bridge like with the Cyclops, but only the essential navigation controls (steering, depth ballast controls, engaging the engine, using a basic radar, and the ability to control the pitch to slightly make the submarine nosedive or ascend faster).

The following sections can be managed by one player alone, but it would be much less cumbersome and more fun with a crew:

The muscle (engine room). The player can only start the engine from here (it makes the ship feel big and powerful, which is the whole point). The speed should be controlled from the bridge, but an overdrive mode to further increase the speed that can only be engaged from the engine room would be amazing. But careful, it would need constant attention because the engine is likely to get damaged, leading to its eventual failure until properly fixed, or even overheat and set the sub on fire.

The brain (control room). It would contain a control panel to manage many elements from the sub (customize the exterior, redirect power, activate lockdown, or some other modes such as shielding or camouflage, etc.). It would also have a more detailed radar that would show all the surroundings (terrain, fauna, etc.). Moreover, it would have a display that shows the current state of the submarine (the hull damage, the remaining power, if it’s being attacked by a hostile creature, flooding, etc.)

The heart (power supply). Although maybe controversial, I propose that apart from being able to store energy, the sub could also have a power reactor, like a bioreactor, a nuclear reactor, or some other form of internal power generation since it’s a mobile base. I also think that there should be an emergency power reserve mode that only gets activated when there’s 10% or 5% power left when there isn’t enough power generation. It switches to emergency lighting and strictly limits power to oxygen production and docking or undocking vehicles (without charging them). The only way to override it is at the power supply, but once it reaches 0%, nothing works.

The defense room. Its core purpose is to keep all threats at bay. It could launch decoys, specialized flares, stunning torpedoes like a flashbang but less harmful, or anything else that requires someone to be actively managing the space for self-defense. What is used depends on the kind of threat and the resources that the players have.

The next sections are more independent and don’t really need coordination with other crew members:

The docking bay is something wanted by many people, including myself. At this time, we only have the Tadpole. It’s a cool modular vehicle, but docking it seems to be complicated with the varying shapes and sizes of just 2 chassis. More chassis will probably be implemented, and maybe some other vehicles. Currently I don’t know an exact way to implement docking onto the big sub, but it should fit more than one vehicle at least. It also should hopefully allow, in the case of the Tadpole, ways to modify it, its chassis, and the arrangement between them as well as with other Tadpoles and their chassis. This would be complicated and take up a lot of space unless certain parts, such as a chassis, could be deconstructed and reconstructed or stored in different places instead of trying to physically move a chassis around in a supposedly not very big docking bay.

A comms room. This doesn’t really need to be a room. It could be combined with the control room all in one space. Whether in-game long-distance communication is something worthwhile or not is up to the developers. However, with a dynamic proximity voice chat being worked on, it seems like a very cool opportunity to implement this in the sub.

The storage room. Very clear what this is for. It should have lots of space to store all kinds of different cargo.

Last, but not least, is empty space. Yeap, some abundant space that can be used to build almost anything that the players desire. I want to establish first that the space is supposed to be completely open-concept, although the players should be able to place walls to divide the spaces however they please. To calculate how much space the players need, it should be tested with an example layout: Space for 4 individual personal quarters, living quarters, farming space, crafting and research space, additional storage space, and some extra space to expand any of the previous spaces or to make a whole new space. Overall, the buildable space within the ship should be around 280 square meters or 3000 square feet.

I believe that I was able to mention everything that the big submarine should have to suit myself and most players. Still, anything added, changed, or removed from what I suggested is okay to make it better for everyone. I’ll include a rough sketch of the general section layout below from the side of the sub. Keep in mind that it can be rearranged, especially the bottom section.

Could also be cool if there was a hull like storage for tadpoles, like for example, you dock your tad pole or tadpoles and the sub stores them, and you can interact with a control panel to store the hull seperatley detached, then if you bring the tadpole back out through the control panel you can choose what hull to attach with the panel and it pulls the hull out of storage, attaches the hull to the tadpole and it’s ready for launch
