UI Transparency & Fabricator Accessibility Feedback

G

Hello,

First of all, I want to say that I’m really enjoying the game so far. Great work to everyone involved!

I’d like to share a couple of accessibility suggestions regarding the UI and the Fabricator menus.

Right now, most of the menus are semi-transparent, and because of my eyesight, it can be quite difficult for me to read the text clearly. This is especially noticeable in the Fabricator menu, where I often struggle to distinguish recipe icons from the background.

It would help a lot if there was an option to adjust the transparency level of the menus, or even just a simple on/off toggle to disable transparency entirely. I think this would make the game much more accessible and comfortable to use for many players.

I also wanted to mention another issue related to the Fabricator recipes. It would be extremely helpful if the name of each recipe was always displayed underneath its icon, without needing to hover the mouse over it.

At the moment, recipes that I don’t currently have materials for appear faded or transparent, which makes the icons very difficult for me to see. In addition, recipes that cannot currently be crafted have a large exclamation mark covering most of the icon, making them even harder to identify visually.

Because of this, the only way for me to find a specific recipe is to hover over every single icon one by one until I find the item I want to craft. Showing the recipe names below the icons would make the menu much easier, more comfortable, and far less tiring to use.

I’ll attach an image for reference as well.

Thank you for your time, and keep up the great work!

I agree – one thing that made the fabricator in subnautica 1 easier to navigate at a glance was that categories (ex, food, personal items, resources) were highlighted green if there were recipes within that had all required materials to fabricate, and the recipes themselves were green if they were available to fabricate. It was far easier to see compared to the slight difference in translucency in the menues in SN2

I also agree with this request. The fabricator is super hard to read for anyone with lowe vision. The yellow font on blue background also makes it impossible to read for anyone with that kind of colour blindness and the colourblind filters in the accessibility options do not fix this issue.

I also think the arrangement could be better so the screen is used better. the scrolling feels weird but is needed i guess
