I don’t know why it never crossed your mind, but let me explain exactly what I mean. In Subnautica 1 and Below Zero, my friend and I usually survive the early game in just a basic corridor tube, or by connecting two tubes together, since you don’t have access to the Multipurpose Room at the start. Also, those tubes are round on the outside but have a square space on the inside, and we just survive like that in a miniature base that feels cute and compact. It occurred to me that I would love to have a room that is just as low, but perhaps slightly wider.
So, my suggestion is since there are already so many building options that everyone love, why don’t you simply let us adjust the height when building a standard square room? For example, you could set a minimum height limit (like the height inside a corridor tube) and a maximum height (which is the current stock height). Since the tubes differ between Subnautica 1/BZ and the ones in Subnautica 2, the best approach would be to give us the option to remove the ceiling layer by layer just like you allowed us to remove walls layer by layer to shrink a room.
I would truly love to have a miniature base of that style because I feel the stock ceiling height is too tall for a cozy, tiny base. Plus, anyone who wants to could use this feature to build square tunnels of any width they prefer, keeping the height at the absolute minimum or just slightly higher to suit their taste.I believe a lot of people would love to have small, compact bases that are carefully designed and packed with details for example, for a personal room, a kitchen, or whatever instead of having massive, tall rooms that just feel empty.
