Multi-Tool Improvement

With the EMT tool introduced in the latest experimental version, it seems apparent that subnautica 2 will introduce way more tools compared to subnautica 1. However, this raises concerns regarding inventory and hotbar clutter when tools like the EMT have a very niche usecase (as of now) compared to most other tools. As an aside, I personally find the flashlight to be rendered redundant once you have the wakemaker or tadpole as they have built in lights.

Since subnautica 2 has introduced the idea of upgrading tools, I believe the multi-tool can be enhanced by combining its functionality with other tools (such as the aforementioned flashlight and EMT) via the modification station. This would allow the player to access various niche tool functions through the single item, especially given its namesake as the ‘multi’ tool.

In terms of implementation, the improved multi-tool would toggle a flashlight just like the wakemaker, it will automatically operate like an EMT if you hover over an appropriate interactable, and any additional similarly niche tools introduced in the future can be added to it. An upgraded multi-tool would require a battery to make sense, though the base multitool functionality would not be dependent on the battery.
