More complex collector behavior

Absolutely loving the Collector in EA2 experimental!
These beasts have their purpose and are following it like a day job out in the open. Up until we arrive, they have no reason to be stealthy all the time. But let’s say we happen upon them a few times and manage to escape via vehicle or quick hiding or getting reprinted, they may adapt. Maybe they start moving more stealthily to get a jump on us first.

Then, they could adapt further and lurk on the sea floor, hidden between some interesting looking debris, perhaps even with changed coloration to mimic their surrounding!

At some point, one might wait for me as I return to my base, hiding in a spot just in one of my usual traveling routes. That is - if my own behavior includes repetitive commutes, that would be a weakness for a leviathan to exploit, forcing me to adapt.

And eventually, they might even lay traps. One might place a shiny new item somewhere for us to scan while lurking nearby. Maybe something we actually need to scan to progress further.
Or they wait until we are really deep and out of our vehicle - then steal it, well knowing that we need it to not drown.

I would love a constant back and forth with evolving behavior patterns and given the intelligence of Earthen octopi, I would absolutely believe that these things are intelligent enough to give me problems.

And eventually, maybe I can try and initiate non-vocal peace negotiations? Like, what if I collect some Deepwing Eggs? Do they love these? If they see me drop them two or three times as I run from them, would they wait for me to give them more before they try to kill me? What if they saw me create an artefact that they want for their nest? Would they later just let me pass through their territory a few times before demanding more tribute? And eventually maybe knock on one of my bases to ask me for help after which there would be no more aggression unless initiated by me?
