I have played though the expereimental version from the october 29 patch from the ground up. My first new thing i saw whas that creature that swims around the observatory i think its really cool, and gives of like a curiosety effekt, where you are both intreged for what it is, but also scared because its terrafying.
Then i complited the EA1.2 things in the game and knew to go into the trenches, but only after i got down there explored the home stead did i get the message for sea elevator over the trench. going down there to the great clam, mixed with axum gave a really cool vibe. also the dirayes from the axum is really cool and i did not expect there point of veiw out side of the text that they leave.
Going down deeper i found my self almost stuned of the buetie the trenches. i think they might be the prettiest bioum in all of subnautica, and a fan faverit location for a base.
This leads me to base building in the trench. The new radation type solar panel thing is a cool idea, but far too expensive, because of the graphine. Now dont get me wrong it is abondont ish, but thats only after your astablished down there. i think a reduction to only 1 or 2 graphine culd help it out. Then there is my next gripe down in the trenches there is like no titanium or quartz, i know quartz is found up in the dunes but that is mostly just the small culsters. And the titanium is there, but just not near enuf, to build a basic base, i had to do 3 transfer trips down there with titanium and my metal farms, to first set up power from the thermal vents, place the metal farms, wait for more titanium, more power, more metal farms. it took me 1.5 houres to set up a base with a moonpool.
Now on the more posetive side of base building. The new round room is proberly the best thing in subnautica right now, making a base with a 360 window is a must for any trench base to take in the view. though it wuld be cool if we culd have round moonpools.
The grinder is intresting, i dont mind the cost of it, it might even be a bit on the cheaper side of things. But the almost minigame for gathering with the sea frog is so much fun. i really like that it is not just a new sonic resinator but a process for theise new resources, although it might just be me but i did not find alot of those random nodes.
On to the sea frog, i liked leading up to searshing for it i ound alot of messages from the colinist that they too where searching for it. Then i found peices a reck that lead me down to the neast, i liked following this trail. Now the neast is a terrafying place, there are almost no places to hide, up in the water there is collecters, down in the tar there is tar eals on crack. The first time i got there i was yet to get the message for the collecters harp, so i rushed down there, hid my tadpole in the reck and scaned the sea frog. i like the new decorations that where down there, but i did not find more then 1 fragment for the pool table.
I think the sea frog is fun, but it feels clumsy and slow. I like the gimic that it can climb on walls but i think the jump it has is under welming compared to even the nearfed prawn suit in below zero. i think this makes it more so just a mining tool and not somthing i wuld whant to explore in.
I think other than mining i like that the taylings had made those blockades, but they in some ways seem kind of poitless. it wuld be cool if they have hid those random crusher noeds in there, instead of just a pathway or a thermal vent.
Now to my faverite part, the big harb. i think is is a really cool feature, also the way you can get so close to the collectors, and see the size diffrence beteween them. again one litle gripe, it took me a long time to figure out how to activate it, i did not know that i needed to hold my emt tool for the lid to open. i think you guys shuld make it open regardless, and just dispaly that you need a tool to do it. going over to the nest i really like how you need your seafrog to open the containers, its like gabeling. some crates are cool others are disturbing.
After making the componets and the magma core i powered on the trident, but then the game just stops there. i really hope that it will be drivebel in EA2 because this is really disapoiting, also the finish message talks about a qr code, that just does not exist.
Over all the update is really cool, has a ton of new scans, and makes it easyer to get the 80 bio scans, though it still is unclear what i have bio scaned and normal scaned. Now On the the collector, i think there new tlc is super cool, and the way it grabs methane ∗∗∗∗∗ and play with them, and grabs the cliffs is super cool, but i do wish there where just 1 or 2 more of them, the update is really easy.
