Tadpole Upgrade: Collector Chassis
I have an idea for a new Tadpole chassis called the Collector Chassis, inspired by the Collector Leviathan.
The chassis would add mechanical tentacle-like arms to the Tadpole, allowing us to interact with the environment in different ways.
Basically movement would be the tentacles pushing off the stones like the collectors. And maybe scare off medium sized predators because they react to the collector leviathans. How to do that is maybe make it have darker colours or an ability to make a collector leviathan screech. Even maybe a module. But with a long or medium cooldown and obviously large predators wouldn’t be scared. That’d be too op.
Possible abilities
Object Grabbing, Grab loose objects and resources from the area around you like if you saw a small cluster you could grab it and crush it into materials. But it’d take a bit of time or more battery
Fish, Catch and transport small fish without having to leave the Tadpole.
Rock Throwing, pick up loose rocks and throw them away from obstacles.
Resource collecting, it would allow us to Collect smaller resources using the mechanical tentacles.
Dual Manipulation: Potentially allow multiple tentacles to operate independently. Or just one or two as grabby and crushing and the rest for movement and it’d be cool if it had like idle animations from the collector.
Suction, the tentacles could have little vacuums or that could be a module that sucks smaller items into storage. But it’d have to have battery maybe so it’s not too overpowered. I don’t mean like tool battery or like seamoth. I mean like you need a battery installed into the chassis or something and you occasionally need to charge it but if it runs out the main power for the tadpole works but the suction doesn’t work. Or the module could need battery and you would have to put it in like the battery charger not sure how that’d work though.
Why I’d like to see this
I think this would be an amazing update because it’s unique and parts could be at the home area for the collector leviathan or just somewhere difficult. And it gives us another way to travel and collect.
But this is just a suggestion and if the devs are interested in this then change anything about it!
