Story in the style of S1 instead of SBZ.

Right now the story seems kinda boring. And its not that it is boring itself because its cool and all but it gets too much focus directly. In S1 the whole story was found out by you, by finding not logs or recordings but buildings and clues. The intrest in the story came from that you crashed on a planet and the story was why you crashed. In S2 its a story about what, noa and a tree. It might be interesting but i need some way to tie it in to what i care about. Even with the axum aliens i didnt find it cool to find their huts or buildings. It just felt forced. Finding a precursor base felt like a clue and it was cool. You were shocked. With S2 it just is there and the reason to do anything with it is that i need to, not because i want to. I want to be alone on a alien planet, and find out things for myself and explore for exploring, not for progressing. Its a great game but the thing i loved most with S1 was the story and now what i like least with S2 is the story. And it just feels like the same way of just telling you the story and just showing you different alien bases like SBZ. Its not any wonder or exploration, its point and go and do, and then point to the next place, go and do.

Agreed, not a big fan of just being shown where to go to progress the story. We’re the Qualified INVESTIGATOR so let us INVESTIGATE instead of just being handed all the answers upon reaching the GPS markers

You got a point but also missing the mark a bit. It makes sense for NOA to point his investigator to places of importance in order for investigate, and I find there is plenty of finding out for yourself, exploring the cave around the Zippy blackbox, finding logs in outposts and following the cable to the first base, and so on.
So yes there is plenty of pointing you still have to explore and find stuff yourself to get the full picture.

I feel like some players might not want to have to explore every inch of the world to uncover the main story, I’d say its good to have the general story direction be told to us or available without TOO much effort (tho of course a good amount should still be needed, if I wanted to listen to an audio book i can do that without opening sn2) but it would be cool to find more in depth details and interesting things maybe even a whole subplot in logs and buildings

You’re right; I finished both previous Subnautica games at least four times. In the original Subnautica and Below Zero, you had to search around, whereas in Subnautica 2, the game leads you exactly where you need to go, and the only thing standing in your way is a Collector leviathan that won’t actually hurt you anyway.
