The bio-bed reprinting mechanic completely ruins the survival experience. It takes away all the tension, risk, and fear that made the original Subnautica great. Instead of trying to fix or balance it, please just remove it entirely or give us an option in the game settings to completely disable it, without enabling perma-death. I’m digging this up again because, I’m irritated by the lack of support and this choice of science fiction over thalassophobia. This is driving away veteran players, and the response of developers to the situation is absolutely appaling. Do better unknown worlds, and stick to the fan base instead of selling out.

It’s literally the same respawn mechanic just with an in-universe explanation
It works functionally the same as just respawning in the first game, I’m not sure what exactly you’re asking for, “disabling it without enabling permadeath”?
Also, selling out? To whom? They are just doing what they want with the story, and that is that reprinting is based on technology found on 4546b that the architects created, linking things together. It really is no different than regular respawning with just a bit of lore explanation.
I kind of agree with the hardcore mode aspect but I’m like 90% sure they’re adding hardcore for that ??? Game mode coming soon
