Automated Mapping Device

An independent mapping device, that can be deployed in a specific area would be cool. Some Cave Systems are ceomplicated and each cave looks similiar due to biome etc. Deploying a Mapping Drone could deliver a 3D Map of the area. The device shouls take some time to map a certain area and has to be colleced to read the data. Some devices go missing due to agressive Fauna or heat or what ever which could be an indicator to enter with caution. Killing the threat could make a mapping possible. Upgraded Mapping Drones can map bigger areas and/or detect minerals/bases etc.
