Hi devs! I had two suggestions for the Trident
first, what if every depth module made the sub slightly rounder? It does make sense, a rectangle is one of the least pressure resistant shapes, and a sphere is the highest.
Edit: I did not realize the current design was not the final one, sorry about that.
Second, some people might not like this, but I think it would be awsome, how about making ACTUAL controls, not hopping ina seat and pushing levers, well, kinda that, but with more steps.
First you power up life support.
Line up the main switchboard, this can simply be a button or switch,
energize feild circuits,
throw out the contractors and cut out resistance, this could be a lever.
Driving is normal.
it would also be nice to see almost everything controled by switches and buttons, like headlights, decoys, opening doors, speed, sonar, sheild, or littarly any upgrade.
In my opinion this would just make the pilot feel cool.
this is really dumb. from the start to the beginning.

Okay… Could you please explain why?
you wanna micromanage a big submarine, and have a bunch of ‘roles’ for people. nobody ever wanted to do that in Subnautica. there’s other games for micromanaging subs, like Barotrauma or Pulsar: Lost Colony

What about us console players? We don’t have those games.
Plus, there is no “Micromanaging” Its literally just the startup, and converting everything else from big UI to a switch.
Even if it was, that would be really cool. You do also realize it could be a setting right? Like all of this would be one on/off button in the settings?

Keep in mind that the rectangular shape of the BigSub you’re referring to is still a work in progress, and the final design will most likely be completely different and more rounded, like other well-known Alterra vehicles.

Oh, I actually didn’t know that. I thought that was the final design.

Just so you know it’s not gonna be a rectangle. That’s how the Seafrog chassis looked a few months ago.
I like the already-here driving system though
