Base legs not required.

This might be a little complex and pull away from subnauticas main idea, but what if base legs weren’t required? Now it wouldn’t be like Minecraft or something where your base could float, rather you weren’t forced to place them.

How it would work;
say I build a large room on the edge of the void with one corridor hanging over the edge. I could remove the legs and all works fine.
Now say I put ten more. Not okay, structurally. Because of this massive weight and hardly any supports, the corridor would start sagging, before breaking off entirely. Very bad.
Say you really want that setup specifically, but can’t because it would snap. Well don’t fret. You can add a wire/rope starting at the large room and going to the last corridor. But one problem, now your entire base is going to get dragged down. So you need to add more weight on the back and another wire. Now you feel like a mechanic and you get what you want.

This could be a setting you can toggle on and off, but I think it would be really cool.

You can kind of make legless bases already. Start with a room as high as you can build it, then build on top of that room a bit, then remove the lower layers until no legs. There’s a builder on the discord that has what looks like a spaceship floating above water in survival.
