I think Unknown Worlds should do to the habitat what they did to the Cyclops in Subnautica 1 (or sub1 for short). If you dont know or remember, let me jog your memory, early in sub1 the cyclops was indestructable. They later changed it to what it is today where you have shields and it can be destroyed, making it feel more engaging and it stopped us players from feeling like we were gods and more like we were survivors of a crashlanding. I think the same overhaul is needed for our habitats. This idea came to be when i watched a youtube video of players building long corridors over the trench to avoid the collector leviathan completely.
The Ideas:
I think we need to expand the “manageable resources” of the base. Mostly because this game is co-op and more things to manage will help the overall gameplay. I think everyone would like a more co-op oriented feeling surrounding the bases, not just in the artistic sense. Right now we only have energy to worry about. I think it would be great to add oxygen as a manageable resource, since we already have oxygen generators as a standalone piece of equipment, i think its fair to say we need a habitat version aswell. Same goes for the structural integrity just as we had in sub1. Glass decreases it, enameled glass increases it, moonpool decreases it and bulkheads (hopefully comes back) increases it.
Also i hope the repair tool is used to fix the base from external damage like when the hammerhead attacks or if the collector ever gets to do damage to the base (maybe even rip a corridor off or something!) And to stop those things from happening we get to reinforce the base with better materials and with achors to the seafloor.
Imagine the possibilities! :)
(Also alot of these ideas are great but they need tweaking so it doesnt become a thorn in the side, all of my ideas are meant to make you feel like you want to play this game forever and not make you want to quit, remember that!)

I don’t agree with some things in the post, but I do agree with maybe small damage that can be done by leviathans and could be repaired normally. Of course it shouldn’t be a regular occurrence

Thank you for your comment!
What ideas did you not agree with? (im curious, no malicious intent) :3
Some sort of thing to make the game feel like a survival game.
I think it should be work in survival and if there ever is a hardcore mode maybe more extensive damage can occur?
