Great Jaw Change (Updated)

Please comment before disliking!
The Great Jaw, alongside touching the tendons, should be triggered by it opening its eyes whenever you make too much sound or if you spend too much time inside! The tendons could also be moved to the outer area instead of just the interior with the lithium. :)

It doesn’t have ears and is a passive predator with the central appendage being the trigger. It having more triggers away from the lure would be a biological disadvantage since it would lead to an expenditure of energy without catching prey more frequently. No reason for it to be sound-sensitive, and no reason for it to have more trigger mechanisms.

On the other hand, I do agree that it should absolutely periodically open its eyes to check for prey that is passing through but not fooled by the lure appendage.

Wouldn’t it be more energy-efficient to have some more tripwires (passive) than open its eyes frequently (active)?

Anyway, it seems strange that touching the tendons causes them to snap but firing a sonic resonator in the central bulb, or even at the tendons, does nothing.
