Be less silly about acquiring adaptions

T

I understand why “touching” the angel comb is the easiest way to give players adaptions, but it feels very game-y and silly. It’s not scienctific, it’s magic. And considering how vital the upgrade is, it’s basically effortless (even with the “fight” required to cure it). A better solution would be to have some kind of lab you have to build, then you have to grab a sample from the comb from a location that might change each playthrough, then you have do some kind of mini game to process the sample, and THEN you get the upgrade. It would be so much more satisfying and fulfilling that way.

There’s reason. Our printed bodies easily take the genetic data and use it in a way not possible for normal humans. I like what they have now and it’s definitely gonna get harder and there’ll be bigger bloom events when it comes to gaining adaptations

How is adding minigames less game-y than what we do now?

I honestly kind of enjoy that it’s a bit silly or strange, at the end of the day alien kind of just means different and it certainly is, when in Rome an all that. I do get what you mean though, even just taking a sample you have to add to the biobed or something to use it. I disagree with the minigame though, that would be completely immersion breaking considering the current gameplay.
