A multiplayer submarine

A big 40m submarine that has a steering room, a moonpool with Tadpole PRAWN Suits or other Tadpole variants. A crafting room with a fabricator and bioreactors for additional emergency power.

Interior/Rooms

The submarine is for exploring and can reach to 1000m depth (without upgrades). It holds 8 power cells (the same from the Tadpole) in trays near the back of the submarine that are accessible from the crafting room.

The submarine could also have different power cells assigned to different systems. For example, 1 power cell for life support, 1 for general power like lights, the fabricator and biobeds, and 4 for the engines. The submarine could still move with only 2 engine power cells, but at around half speed.

Power System

The submarine would have an emergency power reserve. When activated, the lights turn orange, the speed of the submarine significantly decreases and the outside lights get turned off to save as much power as possible.

The bioreactors in the crafting room would mainly be for emergency recharging. They would not replace the power cells, but could give the submarine enough temporary power to get out of a dangerous situation or recharge power cells.

I think this could make deep sea expeditions much more intense. When you are very deep where there is almost nothing to see, suddenly losing power and having the emergency power activate could create a lot of panic. You would have to quickly refill the bioreactors, change power cells or decide which systems need power the most.

Damage & Repair

If it gets damaged by the claws of the Collector Leviathan (or, if the Elusive Leviathan is added later, by its horns) you will need an additional gadget/arm for the PRAWN chassis of the Tadpole to repair it from the outside.

If the submarine’s health gets below 30%, it could start sinking to the bottom. This would mean that you have to leave the submarine with a PRAWN Suit and repair it from the outside while knowing that whatever damaged your submarine could still be somewhere nearby.

The repair could take around 2 minutes, so you would have to stay outside with the PRAWN Suit while the submarine is sinking and the creature that attacked you could still be looking for you.

Emergency Flare Cannons

There could also be emergency flare cannons that are accessible from the crafting room. They could temporarily blind or disorient the predator that is attacking for a few seconds.

This could give you enough time to get out of its grip or make more distance if you are being chased. I don’t think the flares have to work exactly like this, but I think some kind of emergency system against predators would be really cool.

I don’t necessarily mean that all of these things have to be added to this exact submarine. I would just really love to see some of these mechanics, especially the emergency power reserve and repairing the submarine from the outside while it is sinking, in Subnautica 2.

Thanks for reading this and I LOVE your game!
