The oxygen generator is a super cool mechanism that really helped me immerse deeper into the game ! And honestly, I love putting 2 or 3 on a dive elevator and making a sort of work camp. Thing is, even with 2 generators, you’re still hanging out for a couple of minutes trying to catch your breath.. which is a little boring after the second refill.
Wasted time in my opinion, but what if the dive elevator gave the O2 generators a BUFF on OUTPUT?? Also it would be cool, for me anyways, to build an underwater open work station, as a sort of FOB while exploring/mining an area.
So, the feature I’m proposing would be to give a BUFF to the O2 generators in deep dive situations when they are in contact with a open underwater work platform and when attached to the Dive elevators. Other than that I think the o2 Gens are pretty well balanced.

Overall, I also really like the idea of the dive elevator and the O2 generator, but with how early you can currently unlock the Tadpole, there just isn’t much use for it in the game.
I like how this idea makes both the elevator and portable O2 more useful. They are currently useless and entirely forgettable IMO. Not sure this change is enough on its own to fix that, however.
The elevator needs far more range, for a start; and we need more deep spots that won’t already house a tadpole.
O2 generator should be unlocked in either old habitat or camp one. Also some rework to how it functions, maybe draw more power but have O2 ready instantly

I was hoping the O2 generator would function like one of the broken air tanks and give off a steady bubble. As far as I can tell it doesn’t generate/store oxygen if you’re out of range, so my hopes of leaving a trail of these to do long deep treks without a vehicle doesn’t work. I agree it would be good to have more places inaccessible by vehicle - more adventuresome.
