In the new region coming in the EA 2.0 update, to go deep inside of the trench, there should be a new adaptation that you need to go deeper, its like the pressured water adaptation that you first get at the start of the game but it allows you to go in even more pressurized water, or else you would start suffocating and if you went deeper your health would start to drain smoothly and rapidly.
