Pep- second life

Meet Pep, the ideal AI helper robot for your survival.

Who is Pep?
Pep is a small mechanical helper created by ALTERRA that can shapeshift into various animal forms—such as rabbits, cats, dogs, and more—to suit its owner’s preferences.

Pep has two main functions:

  • To act as a companion by your side—interacting, chatting, asking questions, and playing.

  • To serve as a “second life” via its operating system, or simply to be used as Pep because it’s cute.

How would this “second life” work?

It works like this: if the player is unfortunately eliminated, the NoA system automatically transfers their consciousness into Pep. Pep becomes useful for retrieving items lost during elimination; the player (as Pep) can pick up the black box, carry it on their back, and safely return the belongings. Afterward, they can contact NoA to transfer their consciousness from Pep back to their original body.

Pep performs the same functions as a normal player: building, gathering, crafting, and exploring.

Advantages of being Pep: As a robot, there is no need to worry about oxygen, hunger, or thirst. Pep features an X-ray mode to visualize ores or structures and can pilot or command vehicles. Additionally, other players can interact with the player controlling Pep—such as by carrying or petting them—and there is unlimited communication range.

Disadvantages:
Pep has a limited battery life that can be recharged via artificial light or sunlight; however, at great depths without light exposure, Pep may become inactive. At extreme depths, Pep also suffers from water pressure, which hinders movement, and becomes extremely fragile—making it constantly vulnerable to danger.

Upgrades: X-ray, pressure module, speed, and jump.
