FEATURES WE’D LOVE TO SEE IN SUBNAUTICA 2
Here are a few small features I’d love to see added. None of them are huge, but I think they could make the world feel much more alive and immersive.:steamthis:
Fish should create visible ripples and splashes when they jump or break the water’s surface.
Slightly increase the underwater visibility distance. Maybe this could be unlocked through an adaptation or progression system.
Randomized Leviathan encounters. This is probably my biggest wish. Running into a Leviathan in unexpected places would create unique and memorable moments instead of everyone memorizing the same spawn locations.
The player and vehicles should gently float and sway with the water when standing still instead of remaining completely motionless.
The World Tree could slowly change its shape and grow over time.
Dynamic weather such as rain, storms, thunder, and lightning would make exploration much more atmospheric.
The underwater current tunnels could look more natural. Right now they’re very obvious, perfectly circular holes. Making them less uniform and blending them into the environment would feel much more realistic.
Creature and fish eggs scattered around the world would make the ecosystem feel more alive and encourage exploration.
Biome color transitions should be much smoother. For example, instead of the environment suddenly turning orange when entering a thermal area, the colors should gradually shift as you get closer.
Leviathans should be able to damage player bases without completely destroying them. They could drain power, damage certain modules, or even cause small leaks that players would need to repair.
These aren’t massive gameplay changes, but I think details like these would make the world feel far more believable, immersive, and unpredictable.
