Make water and algae packets auto-consumed

I suggest removing the mechanic of placing water packets and food packets in the player’s inventory and having them add directly to their stats instead.

Players who play with those particular biomods enabled want to reduce the grind of finding food and water. The game should respect that.

There really is no realistic use case where you would WANT to save up on the collected food and water - the game has other mechanics for stashing food and water.

Forcing the player, who at that time has expressed a clear desire to get out of the hassle of food and water management by spending two or even four of his or her precious biomod slots on it, to manually consume the produced food and water feels, to be honest, almost spiteful.

Maybe they could also make a biomod called Thick Skin or even Auto Heal that just automatically heals you when you take damage? Or it could even negate damage entirely!
I also think batteries and power cells should automatically swap out when they’re depleted, since it’s just such a hassle to switch them manually.

Or we could have a biomod that makes sarcasm just bead off the skin. Can you accept that different players have different playstyles and want to emphasize or downplay certain game mechanics? Or is YOUR playstyle the only CORRECT one and everyone else should just submit to it or GTFO?

Lol, I was just trying to point out what I see as absurdity in your idea with a bit of absurdity myself. If you don’t want to think about consuming food and water, just wait for them to come out with Freedom Mode like they have with other Subnautica games.

We’d already be using the inventory slots taken up by water packets/algae blocks with other forms of food and water, and probably more than two slots for longer adventures. So these biomods are already saving us inventory slots, on top of saving us from having to collect food and water in the first place.
