
Rotorkelp would be filled in a kelp-forest like biome along with Pneumas and Mimic Pylons!
(Appearance: a large green/yellow stem with twirling branches that extrude off. On the twirling branches, tendrils act like leaves and eat fish, which it does by using the tendrils to slowly push the food into its many mouths located on the kelp, like the Pneuma if its disguised appearance doesn’t fool predators. If this was to go in a deeper biome, the Rotorkelp could take on a deep blue appearance to match with the new and retextured Deep Pneuma fish, and Mimic Pylons that would grow here normally could also take on this appearence! A large spherical stomach sits at where the “kelp” meets the ground.)
Rotorkelp: Scientific Name is ‘Altovitinema vadosus’
A partially carnivorous and tall organism which inhabits shallower regions and provides homes and disguise for Pneuma. This fish takes cover in the kelp and spreads eggs ejected out of the ends of the twisty branches by rubbing against the source, which allows the eggs to stick the fish and eventually detach in another location. While this creature’s primary food source is predators of the Pneuma, it also uses photosynthesis at the highest tendrils for when it lacks the ability to catch any. Whenever a Rotorkelp is successful in its hunt, it shoves its prey in its many mouths located on the main stem of the creature, which are then fed down to the main stomach where the stem meets the ground.
Assessment: Harmless anchored creature, often hides many many fish and eggs, which can be used for … devs choice, if anything.
Deep Rotorkelp: Scientific Name is ‘Altovitinema abyssalis’
A carnivorous, tall, and bioluminescent organism that inhabits deeper waters that provides cover for the Deep Pneuma. This fish takes cover in the kelp and spreads eggs ejected out of the ends of the twisty branches by rubbing against the source, which allows the eggs to stick the fish and eventually detach in another location. The Deep Rotorkelp relies purely on eating fish and predators of its fishy helpers, which the Deep Rotorkelp makes easier by adapting to this lifestyle and developing retractable sharp thorns on the ends of its tendrils to allow for easier hunts. When it does catch food, it takes its prey and spits an acid out of one of its many mouths, uses the tendrils to shove the food closer to its mouth, then finally uses suction to pull it down into its stomach.

We need a kelp forest environment so bad. This sounds cool and already works within the pre established parameters of Proteus and what we already know exists/could exist.
