Radio messages between players

Okay, I admit I’m a devout single player first guy. But considering the incoming inclusion of proximity chat. I feel like it would be cool if you could string together radios between bases, or have broadcast channels, and anyone with a radio in their base, or a receiver peice can chat, and that becomes the only way to talk long distance. It would give the radio a use in multiplayer and lead to some ‘man in the chair’ gameplay if implemented right.
