I feel as if a big part of the original Subnautica, the feeling of loneliness and isolation on an alien world, are inherently lost when playing multiplayer, and that’s totally okay, as of course multiplayer with come with it’s tradeoffs. However, for those who play alone, I still feel as though this is the case. I feel as if, at least the majority of current areas in the game, are too bright, and almost cartoonish, and the amount of voice logs takes a lot of tension out. Now, for the very beginning area of the game, or at least what I hope will be the very beggining, (~95 percent of the map as of 1.1), I feel this is okay, however, I believe as we go deeper there should be a quick cutoff of all these voice logs, and the cartoonish environment, as otherwise that feeling of isolation will likely never even compare to the OG Subnautica, and while this game of course does not have to be a clone, it should still capture that central feeling.

I think they’re going for a more “what happened here” vibe. In the deeper areas I don’t think this will be a problem

i dont get why this is downvoted so much its defenitely needed to make it feel like the first game or better, the voice logs feel too video gamy and doesnt really immerse me that much. The things that do immerse me are the things like the pda saying stuff or the voice acting of the sunbeam since it felt realistic and less like some weird movie dialouge
