I love the themes of adapting to Proteus and how they’re mechanically implemented in-game with adaptations, biomods, and modifying Alterra’s technology with Axum technology.
Seeing as how Alterra is oppressively capitalistic and colonialist and that some of their technology, like the PDA and NoA, seem designed to utilize and support the resulting ideology, I think it’d be thematically interesting if at some point, this technology started creating a barrier for the player’s goals, and the player had to modify them to be in line with said goals.
Perhaps the player would need the biobed to “enhance” them in some way, or need some information from NoA, and NoA would prevent the player from using the biobed in the desired way or wouldn’t give them the required information because it goes against its own goals.
The player would have to do something to modify them, sort of like how some of the previous “pioneers” modified the biobeds.
Maybe the player could use some combination of Alterra and Axum techology to modify them.
There’s something suspicious about said technology. It was designed to serve goals that may be pernicious and which may have arose in a context that no longer exists. I feel like the game thematically hints at this.
I don’t want to carry out those goals. I want to be a xenofeminist and dismantle the master’s house using the master’s tools.

Interesting idea, save the end. I can see myself siding with the Jubilee and emancipating myself from NoA and Alterra - which, as you hint, may not even exist any more at that point.
I’d rather not be forced into the role of a xenofeminist (whatever that is) though…
