An "organism" that's actually a stolon of a large organism.

It’d be wonderfully weird if there was an “organism” the player could find swimming around that was actually the Protean equivalent of the stolons of annelids like Ramisyllis kingghidorahi - gonads with eyes, simple nervous systems, and limbs that enable it to swim freely.

Imagine scanning a fish, perhaps after picking one up and eating it, and reading the PDA entry and learning that it’s actually more or less a gonad of a leviathan.
