Subnautica 2 Needs More Unpredictability

Even as someone w Thalassophobia I think once u learn where creatures spawn, much of the tension disappears because you always know where it’s safe.

I think Subnautica 2 would be much scarier n better if Leviathans, maybe even some other large predators, occasionally left their usual territories instead of always following fixed patrol areas. Not all the time—just enough that every expedition feels unpredictable and NOT safe. Building on this I also think the music shouldn’t warn the player before they’ve even noticed the creature. Imagine suddenly spotting a Leviathan—or even getting attacked first—and only then the music kicks in. That would create far more fear and tension. Sadly, my 1st encounter w the collector Leviathan was just the warning music.

Subnautica is at its best when it makes you feel like anything could happen at any moment, and I think a more dynamic ecosystem would bring that feeling back.

yup this is exacly what the game needs. Devs if you are reading this try to make the game feel more unpredictable like a current moving or changing or a world event that changes some aspects of the game like a earthquake or something (extremely rare). Rare things that make you feel on edge or that the game is fresh would be very needed.

Awesome idea, randomized patrol paths and also creatures especially collector could maybe chase you into different biomes once they lock aggro onto the player. Right now feels lile collector ecen after it sees you if you are near it’s path boundary will just break aggro even before it hits you
