PDA Pause in Singleplayer

I know there are already a ton of posts for this, but especially now that audio no longer auto-plays, an option for PDA Pause in singleplayer is necessary. In the early game there’s no way to keep up with them bc you don’t have enough food, water, O2 yet. By the midgame there’s such a backlog I have to just sit in my base constantly eating and drinking to get through them, which kills any motivation to engage with the lore. It completely buries the game’s writing and VA work, and it’s difficult to remember what environment I was in when I received them. This will be a bigger problem as the map expands in future updates. I also feel being able to pause in menus is a fairly standard accessibility feature for people with disabilities, children, etc.

Exactly. I play the game and get behind on them because I’m 2 or 3 layers deep into a wreck, or far away from my Tadpole, and running low on oxygen. Or am dying from hunger or thirst or running low on food and water. I don’t have time to sit there and read a bunch of info about a newly discovered fish, mineral, scientist log, new area, or other item in PDA… And then the unread things stack up and I lose interest in reading the lore. I’m not invested emotionally into the lore at all because of this. I have no idea what is going on, but I enjoy swimming around and exploring, so that keeps me going

And since there is no log of recently found items or logs, and since there is no search in the PDA, there is no incentive to read the stuff at a later moment when I have more time. It all just blends together in a giant encyclopedia of chaos that is hard or cumbersome to navigate
