We are meant to die, but not dying enough.

Subnautica is and has always been about the creatures, the thrills you get from entering a new boime and being warned about ‘multiple levaithan class creatures’. Subnautica stands out for its emersive world making. In the beginning of the game its pretty clear that we will or ‘should’ die just as in the previous games. The first creature i saw that really got me emersed was the Marrowbreach, I mean dude, the first titan fish swimming at me in the game! The AI behind the creature was awesome, The animation for the creature was awesome, the texturing was awesome! Buuut i was disappointed. The marrowbreach came rushing at me, and I lost 5 hp. Yes, 5hp. 5/100. This thing is the 3rd largest hostlie creature in game (so far) and it does 5 damage. Then there’s the big boy in the thermal spires, and he is awesome. With Hunting dogs to back him up he is terrifing. But again he didn’t do enough damage. 25 is a huge improvement but for a creature this big he should be doing at least the same amount as damage as the reaper from sub 1, if not one shot. Both hostile leviathans have instant kill when the alpha marrowbreach (roughly the same size as male shiver) Does 4x less. And before you call me a lunitic just remember, 1 distraction flare turns this thing into a deer in the headlights. Just a reccomendation to make this thing more emersive and keep that sense of discomfort close. Great job developers can’t wait to see the Elusive leviathan and tar eel in game!

i mean i get what ur saying, though idk what this big guy with hunting dogs is, idk if i’ve seen it or not yet so i can’t aggree nor disagree with that one.

Yes everything needs to deal more damage and they should be less afraid to make the game hard or scary. The collector does like 5 hp to my tadpole after one durability module and i think it should be way more dangerous than that. Things that look like they should instakill you should.
