If the player holds an item, they should have the option to ask NOA about it, simple stuff like “Where can i find this item” or “Is this item useful to the mission as of now?”, this is good for early game, as NOA could say “item {example} can be found in biome {example}” to help new players (or players that are used to the outcrop system from the first game and Below Zero) have a better idea where to find it, if the item is a pinned recipe (like dedicated core or Plasteel) the player should be able to ask “does the pinned recipe help with the crafting of {item here}” this would help with the crafting of things like recipes related to Lithium\Plasteel, so the player would know if (for example) the Sonic Processor (used to break lithium chunks, specifically the Great Jaw ones) would help with crafting the tadpole modules (Scout Ray\Haul Chassis). Thanks for reading, have a good day!

huh, i had a very similar concept but specifically for the flora and fauna. although one would have to assume that NOA initially shouldn’t know too much about it either and hence require the player to gather data for him (which basically is the role you are given in the tutorial scene) to make an analysis. this more involved interaction would therefore naturally combine into a like a side quests explaining how each part of the biosphere works: https://subnautica2.nolt.io/8257
