hydration station

I can understand why you wouldn’t want anything in the game which comes down to a free drinks cabinet, but there’s no reason why the player should have to go out and hunt slugs to make water in a base that IS under water and can literally make air from it. It just fels unnatural.

So here’s my suggestion: You can place wall-mounted hydration stations where you can fill up with water, but can’t take any with you. That way you don’t have to worry about hydration while pottering around your base but still have to manage a cache of water for exploration.

do people just not know about making water in the processor

Making water in the processor still means you have to gather resources. Even though you had to hunt through a lot of wrecks to get the water filter machine in Sub1, it was a life saver when you finally got it. Can only carry so much bleach around at any given time

What does making water in the processor have to do with this idea? What does making water in the processor change? I have to collect fiber instead of snails and wait five times as long, yay! Its LITERALLY the same thing with different crafting station and ressource!

Let me explain it in a simpler way: You build thing. You thirsty, you interact with thing. If base have power, water meter thingy go to 100. No go search for stuff. No wait for machine. Also no get bottle for takeytakey.

Or in other terms: You don’t have to waste valuable time and resources (whichever you chose) to stay hydrated in your own base. You still have to craft water bottles for travel.

Honestly, I don’t see why we shouldn’t have an infinite water bottle dispenser in the game. If they’re going to be giving players what amounts to infinite raw materials this early in the game, I see no reason why an auto-bottler shouldn’t also come sometime down the line, at least as a midgame appliance

I don’t think materials are overabundant in the early game. The game is exploration-focused with a certain survival element, not the other way round.
