It would be nice if there was a better way to keep track of which places you have visited already. AFAIK there’s currently no way to know if you’ve visited places like biohack stations or wrecks It would be nice if:
A: those places automatically got a signal tracker, that way you could both use colour coordination, and you could use it to help people catch up in multiplayer if someone discovered someone while someone else was offline. I know beacons are a thing, but it feels a little cumbersome to have to make one just for this, especiallly if you don’t have the materials handy nearby.
B: Some way to differentiate those waypoints in the scanner station. It is already quite difficult to orient yourself in the scanner station due to the lack fo a map in the hologram ui, but because there is also no way to see if you’ve already visited one of the marked spots, that makes it much less useful. It would be nice to have a way to organize the nodes in the station.

I think this is really something that is up to the player and part of the way these games work. It’s up to the player to learn their environment and find their way around, and part of that is by keeping track of where you’ve been and where you still need to go. Besides, there is already a very easy way to do that: beacons. I will say that as an inexperienced player I would also often times miss things in wrecks or abandoned habitats or just barely make it into new areas when I didn’t quite have the necessary equipment yet. In those cases, revisiting familiar areas can be very beneficial, and an “already explored” marker would be a hinderanc.

I’ve resorted to dropping a beacon at each bio hack place I’ve visited (colored differently than the scanner indicator). It’s clunky and annoying but this game seems to specialize in that - although Sub2 so far has smoothed out so many things that were even more clunky in Sub1.
But would be a nice feature anyway.
