Interactive player to environments feature

C

I have noticed that Subnautica 2 has an already complex and intuitive environment to player interactive element, and i was thinking of another cool feature that could improve the bio-reactor maintenance aswell as making the game feel more alive. What if you could potentially feed certain consumables to the coral crabs and depending on what type of food you feed them, they could in return defecate more bio fuel efficient ∗∗∗∗∗ that could give certain buffs or debuffs when used in a bio-reactor. For example you scan the coral crab, the PDA notices that you can use its ∗∗∗∗∗, the PDA then could suggest a certain type of food item that coral crabs might consume. The PDA might then note that “Experimentation with feeding Coral Crabs could prove beneficial to your survival” or something along those lines, and then that could potentially peak your interest and start this little side journey to discover new consumables for the coral crab. I suggest this just because, sure the bio-reactors work as they are intended but i feel as if they could be expanded upon further and give its own unique gameplay loop similar to how you have to position and take in consideration of water current POIs when using the turbines, that in itself is a gameplay loop. Idk could be cool but seems hard to code most likely.
