Sensible tools and constructions.

R

Wakemaker. Wakemaker shows two batteries yet only requires one to construct. In game items should reflect components used where possible.
As they are two units, two batteries are shown, two batteries should be required. Extend the range of the wakemaker to reflect this. Or have both units wired to a backpack battery either spoken about in lore or shown in certain camera angles. Then one can be used.

Scanner station.
This unit doesn’t really make sense from a construction or usability point of view. There is this upright which houses the button, but when you face it, is actually in the way from viewing the items to be scanned. Then, to see the items to be scanned, you have to walk over a lumpy footprint of a machine, which also doesn’t make sense.
Equipment in the far future needs to be usable, efficient and ergonomic. The unit could be as simple as an upright with a button, or a wall mount button if placing near wall, and a projector mounted in the floor, roof or both. This projector can also be positioned in a wall too.
What this enables is a 3d projection, completely free of things in the way, or having your character walk over parts of the machine (projector is a lens flush with surface). If this cannot be made, honestly, the old scanner room is significantly better than the scanner station in form and function.
Summarising my points, it’s important that high tech printer tech has form and function, and shows what it does, and does what it shows. Printing objects off world will require significant common sense and efficiency so that people can safely explore a brave new world.
