deconstruct / restore wrecks

I’d like the ability to either restore the wrecks, or just salvage them for the raw parts and remove them from the playable area. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve revisited a wreck, only to find that I risked drowning for a place I picked clean hours ago. If it was restored, and acted like an air pocket, I’d be fine with that.

or make some wrecks possible for repairs to build a a mini hub, that we dont have to decide where to make our mini bases. as long as it can have more value than a worthless wreck with risk of already being there. Or like a mini restored base for making a farm for plants/titanium or w/e. As an option offcourse

I generally agree with the idea, although I’d would be happy if we could simply turn some wrecks into small hubs or outposts instead of having to build every small base completely from scratch.

Rather than making wrecks fully recyclable, another option could be allowing players to salvage only certain damaged or environmentally hazardous sections. From a lore perspective, those could be removed because they’re leaking toxic materials or otherwise harming the surrounding ecosystem. As a gameplay reward, those sections could also serve as one-time sources of rarer resources.

The remaining structure could stay in place and eventually become a nursery or habitat for local wildlife. In reality, properly cleaned and decontaminated shipwrecks are sometimes intentionally turned into artificial reefs that benefit marine life, so I think that would fit the environmental themes of Subnautica quite well.
