Monthly updates

It would be cool if we could have monthly updates from the devs. I don’t mean new content drop every month. But it would be nice to at least have some word from the devs to know what you are working on, what to expect and when to expect it, or even a behind the scenes of the process behind some of the things already in the game. The dev vlog from three weeks ago was a good start. If we could have updates and news like that on a regular basis, it would be awesome.

I actually agree. It would be good to have some idea of what the team is working on or just a check in to let us know progress has been made.

Yeah, it also gives the devs a chance to respond to some of the more common feedback with their own thoughts and ideas too. That kind of communication would be huge for helping understand development decisions for us players.

It’s called a roadmap and we have one. It just doesn’t include approximate release dates for each update, thank goodness. The dev vlogs appear to be set to release as the roadmap is being worked on. Each entry may as well be titled something along the lines of “This Is What We’re Working On Right Now - Part [X]”. I probably won’t be paying any attention to the dev vlogs myself and honestly don’t expect UW or any other studio to provide any more updates or communication to the community than that. Neither they nor we know what might come up during development that delays an update or even makes it go so smoothly the devs wind up ahead of their internal schedules.

I understand there is broad anticipation of new content, continued story, map exapansion, etc., but it’s just not important precisely when the updates drop or are expected to drop internally over the nest 2-3 years and I think it’s best not to provide dates that easily can be missed, which would probably garner unwarranted complaints. Let them cook, I say. The last thing they need is whip-cracking from the community.
