SO, i LOVE how the Fabricator takes items out of Habitat Storage so you don’t have to have everything on your person to build something. BUT, it doesn’t promote organization. so i was thinking about a Habitat Inventory Kiosk. it sums up all your Habitat Storage into one panel. you can Search for a certain material, and it’ll show up on screen, tell you the exact amount you have, and gives you the option to take it into your inventory, or deposit more into empty lockers. the Kiosk also adds up the amount of free slots you have in your Habitat, so if i have 500 Titanium, and 1000 slots of space in my Habitat, it’ll say “500/1000 slots used”.
overall this would just be a quality of life thing you could build in your base for quick deposits and withdrawls so you don’t have to search your entire Habitat for a singlular medkit to keep you from dying, or searching for a single empty locker in your habitat.

Fully agree to this idea. It might have been a bit sluggish in SN1 and BS, but on the other hand being forced to keep order in your lockers to find anything also added some realism. If the systems are now taking things automatically from the locers then a summary overview of everything you have in reach of your replicator etc. whould be totally logical and should be a must.

I agree, organising lockers feels non-essential now.

Love this idea.
yeah I was thinking the same thing. I like organizing stuff, if there’s a quick craft feature I’d prefer it to be something you set up and customize beforehand not just a QOL feature

So basically a screen thing that shows what all is in the base, but not a place you would directly put things into?
That sounds amazing!

Someone authored a mod like this for Subnautica. It should probably remain a mod, imo.

I like the idea as a means to count all materials you have but not as a means for inventory management. I think if you want an ordered inventory you should work for it but if you dont then just have disaray. Then if you just want to know if you have a material without having to search through your disorder that is where an inventory kiosk would come in handy.
