Too much Noa messages?

I am a few hours in (something between 5 and 10) and I get a lot messages from the PDA that Noa has something new to tell me. I think this is a little too much. Like nearly any time I go out of my base I am told to go back to Noa. This is just my personal experience, but it diminished a little bit of the experience, that I am now “on my own” to explore this alien planet. Just take it as the 2 cents of a random player. Besides - great game visually, acoustic and the general feeling of an alien world and the basebuilding is great too (okay, sometimes a stray fish glitches through moonpool). Have fun building this game!

I felt very overwhelmed at how much info was thrown at you in quick succession. It doesn’t help that there’s no PDA pause feature, like the previous games, where you could open the entry and take a moment to absorb the info without constant bombardment from the fauna. Although, I think you have to learn to ignore NOA a little, as I found out it repeats the alert if you haven’t gone back to check it yet, making it seem like NOA has far more items to share than it does.

there were many times NOA would be saying something, or I’d find a pioneer recording, but I’d have to say “sorry, I can’t stop to listen or I’ll drown”. I eventually found the secret to being able to later leisurely brouse the databank back at the base without dehydrating in the process.

Played a 2nd time and muted the voice.. “oxigen” still plays but no NOA/PDA annoyance..

but, yes, they should change the source of annoyance, the PDA gets a ping with the NOA having a message.. why iit does not have a coord set instead ? and why go all the way to NOA to learn there was a blackbox at the wreckage i was about to enter ? It becomes either useless or a waste of time..

It should have instead a ping “blackbox found” with aproximate coords and, only after retrieving it and bringing it back to NOA, should NOA play the dialog part and comment.. That would fix the annoyance and add to the immersion at the hot cave (ping.. pause.. multiple pings)

100% agree with this. NoA holds my hand far too much. I liked how Subnautica 1 made the POIs progressively more difficult to find as you progressed in the game.
