Bases need to take damage/be repairable

Maybe this is an obvious suggestion, but I’ve reached the end of the content and I have this base where those needler mangoes hang out (red and black torpedo-shooting geeks) and they never migrate.

I keep thinking they should probably attack the base or something, but they don’t.
I pop outside to farm my clif bar ingredients #deepseadiet, and one sees me from like a mile away and gives me the side-eye. Expected. But when I go back inside, I can still be hit by those projectiles; they go right through the walls and hit me?

I noticed aggro drops immediately for most hostile creatures when you enter a base. I don’t think you should be able to hide in bases and lose aggro so easily (especially if there’s windows). Aggro should stick, base should take damage, and need repairs with the repair tool.

I feel like this is probably a change that’s going to come but for me it seems like one that should’ve been implemented already so, you never know.
