More hints for how to scan Collector Leviathan

Spoiler warning:

Currently there is a task in the biolab to scan the collector leviathan, but getting close causes them to come near you, enter an inescapable cutscene, and kill you. There is clearly a way to do this, but what that is feels perhaps a bit obscure. For us thick headed gamers perhaps provide an option for getting hints on how to do this. Bonus points if you can trick us into distracting one of the leviathans the first time so we don’t even realize we’ve been taught how to do it.

I have no freaking idea how you would scan it playing single player, but I was able to scan him while he was killing my brother lol.

Hint: Bulletheads camouflage into their surroundings quite well.
