Portable biolaboratory

I would like to suggest making genetics a fully-fledged player tool, just as important as, for example, the Sonic Resonator.

I see several cool ideas in the game like Dash, Camouflage, Sea Skimmer, Sonic Echo, Pathfinder, and other biomods. They provide tools that give players advantages in specific situations (like cave exploration or protection from aggressive fauna). However, the problem is that most biomods on their own are quite weak and/or completely optional. On top of that, running back to the base lab takes a lot of time and effort. As a result, players prefer to assemble one single universal biomod build for the entire game, completely ignoring the rest.

WHAT I PROPOSE:
Add a craftable item to the game: a “Portable biolaboratory” that the player can always carry around. It would store a selected portion of the biomods available to the player from the main station (essentially functioning like a backpack). Using it would consume a significant amount of battery power and, possibly, require a cooldown period.

I believe this would greatly free the hands of both players in their experiments and developers creating locations and biomes. Developers could bring much bolder location ideas to life without fearing that the player won’t be prepared, because the player will have a sort of “Swiss Army knife” and plenty of ways to handle different situations.

Perhaps such a tool would require reducing the number of passive biomod slots for balance reasons. However, I know that many people dislike even necessary nerfs, so I leave this point to your discretion.
