Hammerheads breaking resource deposits

It would be cool if you could use hammerheads to break large resource deposits by luring them and then dodging them with the dash. As a way of harvesting large resources without the sonic resonator, it would add early game incentive to interact with the fauna, with a little risk/reward factor. And it would just be a neat detail. I think the game needs more fauna interaction in general, and this would be one cool way to do that.

I love this! It feels like the original gameplay with the crash fish or stalker teeth! They already crash into coral domes by default, maybe this is a good way to get a certain resource we need to repair the lifepod like at the beginning of the original??

had a similar idea. but breaking the current large deposits sounds too special, too niche for players to discover before it is no longer even relevant (we get the sonic resonantor pretty quickly).

rendering them a source of renewable quartz if you can lure them to hammer the right corals would be a lot more interesting and useful for gameplay - more useful for even the latere game and a reason to revisit the shallows.

with this thinking threre is a lot more the game could expand creature interaction into: https://subnautica2.nolt.io/8257
