Bringing the original protagonist back not as a corporate puppet, but as a legendary, rogue “ghost in the system” using the beloved Al-An progression style would break the internet. It weaves the lore of the original game directly into the new mechanics of Proteus, gives players a massive faction-based goal beyond just standard survival, and lets us finally give Alterra the cosmic middle finger they deserve.
