Danger zone for bases

Hello everyone, to begin i’d like to share what I first liked in Subnautica 1 : the feeling of not being safe, and being an outsider in this world.

To enhanced this feeling in this second opus i’d love that this feeling extend to bases.

Currently, I feel like building bases in way too safe : you are coming in a new zone, collect some items (by the way, not enough in my opinion), build a big hub and you’re good to go for the next hours => it’s way too easy and fast.

To make things harder i believed that as bases grow, they should gradually become targets for hostile creatures (as they become brighter and louder) and be fully destroyed (just imagine coming back from exploration and find the debries on the ocean floor).
The builder tool could then include a danger indicator based on where you build.
This primary concept have many extensions, such as the ability to reinforce the base (with armored panels, electric defenses, lures or repellents ) or camouflage it (with vegetation panels that match the biome’s flora).
Thoses features could then add more diversity in gameplay with at least two strategies : spread out (by setting up multiple small, hidden bases) or establish a single stronghold (a large, fortified hub).
