The Idea: With Subnautica 2 bringing co-op gameplay, a large crew submarine (inspired by the classic Cyclops) is highly requested. To solve the old base-docking logistics, this is a conceptual design for an Alterra-style horizontal hangar designed specifically for a massive sub and its docked scout vehicle.Key Features:Horizontal Bow Docking: The large Cyclops-class submarine drives straight into the monumental base hangar and docks its nose directly into a wall airlock coupler (inspired by the scale of the Precursor Gun moonpool).Suspended Maintenance Bay for the Tadpole: Once the large sub is locked in place, its bottom hatch opens. A robotic arm automatically extracts the small Tadpole (Girino) scout vehicle and shifts it horizontally to an open maintenance platform on the left wall of the same hangar.Smart Fleet Management: From walkways on the left side, players can safely access the Tadpole’s inventory, customize its modular chassis, or swap its upgrades without it floating away in open water. Using a base terminal, players can even cycle the Tadpole into an internal rail system to store it and bring a different vehicle variant into the sub’s belly before a long crew expedition.Alterra Industrial Aesthetic: Sterile white titanium walls, digital holographic diagnostic screens, and yellow/black mechanical claws holding the suspended Tadpole open to the hangar space.
Here is the image I asked her to make (since I don’t know how to draw well).
I didn’t mean “her,” but rather “ai.”
