One of my favorite quality-of-life improvements in Subnautica 2 is the wall locker interaction system. In the previous games, opening a locker and renaming it depended on exactly where your cursor was positioned. That meant having to carefully aim at a specific spot to get the action you wanted. In Subnautica 2, those actions have separate buttons, making the interaction much faster and less tedious.
I’d love to see this design applied to more objects. For example, the oxygen generator has multiple actions (inhale, swap battery, carry), and it’s easy to trigger the wrong one depending on cursor placement. The waterproof locker has a similar issue, where I sometimes accidentally pick it up from a wall or the Tadpole when I only intended to open it.
Using separate buttons for different actions wherever possible would reduce accidental inputs and make interactions feel more consistent and intuitive.
