Add seatruck, modules, and cyclops, etc…

I’d love to see the Seatruck, its modules and upgrades, the Cyclops, and their upgrade paths return in Subnautica 2 alongside the new vehicles being developed.

Part of the fun of Subnautica is having things to discover and work toward. Returning vehicles would add a huge number of additional fragments, modules, and upgrades to find throughout the game, giving players more objectives and making exploration feel even more rewarding.

It would also increase replayability. Different vehicles support different playstyles, so more options mean more ways to approach the game and more reasons to start another playthrough.

To be clear, I’m not suggesting replacing any of the new content. I think the new vehicles should absolutely be included. I just think adding legacy vehicles alongside them would create a richer experience with more progression, more exploration, and more replay value.

Subnautica releases are years apart. It will be a very long time before we get Subnautica 3. The more viable ways there are to play Subnautica 2, the longer the game will stay fresh.

Sn 2 should interate on the previous games and make things better. The sea-truck and Cyclops both concepts of a mobile bases and both had issues. bringing them back without fixing those isn’t the way to go. I’m sure the Sn will come with a better large submarine - and the devs are working on it.

in the mean time i would want the haul chassis to be able to haul things: https://subnautica2.nolt.io/12409

To add to the brainstorm - the late game mobile base could be a blend of the Cyclops and the Seatruck. A submarine with removable modules. (Example using SN1): Want to bring the Seamoth and the Prawn? Remove the forward storage lockers and swap in the module.

“Had issues. Bringing them back without fixing those isn’t the way to go” –> to clarify, i’m not opposed to fixing anything or improving those. However, I’m fine with them being placed into the game almost as is. Because, this is a survival game sometimes you have to get and use junk.
Again, I’m sure the developers already have a plan for the vehicles that will be part of this game. So they’re not taking the place of anything. They’re in addition to–to provide more options of play through.

It also gives us the opportunity to hunt for additional fragments and for things to serve as rewards or exploration.

The problem with such a limited item pool is that typically at a certain point or reward for exploration as things like batteries and cells. For example example, even in the original game when you are exploring the aurora, you probably will get tons of batteries. That’s your reward for exploration. But batteries are cheap and easy to come by and you probably already had tons prior to that.

By incorporating things such as the sea truck, all the sea truck modules, the cyclops and all nine of the required fragments–and all of the upgrades for each–it allows for more fun rewards than something cheap like a battery..

Legacy vehicles would make for good DLC. Personally, I’d rather they put their effort towards vehicles that work best in the current game world, and then only after release, they could create a paid DLC pack with vehicles from previous games.
