Optional craftable and upgradable radio system upgrade for vehicles

a vehicle attachment that gives you a radio system for inside your vehicle with a battery powered removable/portable walkie talkie that attaches to your rebreather or something like that, that can run out of power and be recharged by docking it back on the radio system. It will use power from the vehicle to charge. If you lose it, you will be able to craft the walkie talkie without the radio, but the walkie talkie will not be usable unless you have the radio system installed. It could maybe be upgradable too to increase signal distance to other players’ radios in your game? Unlike in-game chat, this is fully optional so doesn’t change the gameplay unless you have it installed. The walkie talkie could be turned off for safety as other creatures can hear the muffled noises from the outside, or even feel the sound wave vibrations from your mask through water.
