PDA Health Monitor

PDA Health Monitor

This feature could add more depth and importance to exploration and survival in Subnautica 2. The PDA Health Monitor would display injuries or status effects sustained from encounters with various creatures and fauna.

For example, being attacked by a Sandspear could cause bleeding, while being pierced by the needle of a Needler Mango could inject venom. Some effects would be temporary and recover naturally, while others would require treatment using a Med Kit or specialized items designed to treat specific injury conditions.

Injury & Condition System

Different creatures, plants, and environmental hazards could inflict unique conditions instead of only dealing direct damage. Examples include:

Bleeding – gradual health loss until treated
Venom – periodic damage and reduced movement or stamina
Lacerations – reduced healing efficiency until treated
Parasite Infection – gradual health loss until cured
Electrical Shock – temporary disruption of tools, vehicles, or PDA
Pressure Trauma – discourages deep diving without proper equipment
Toxic Exposure – environmental damage over time

The PDA could categorize conditions and show what caused them, their effects, and recommended treatment. For example, identifying a creature responsible for poisoning and suggesting the correct cure.

This would make the PDA feel more like a scientific survival tool and make exploration more immersive by encouraging players to understand the ecosystem rather than only reacting to a health bar.
